Who we are

Bona Espero is a humanitarian and Esperantist institution, located in the municipality of Alto Paraíso de Goiás, which operates in favor of social and environmental development. Founded in 1957, by an Esperanto group who had the idea of building a home for needy children, where they could literate them.

In 1973, the place was first visited by the Grattapaglia family, which, the following year, the voluntary work began to expand the structure and operation of the institution, establishing primary school I and II. Since then, the site has housed and educated more than 600 vulnerable children for more than five decades of existence, and until today, it is still faithful to its mission of bringing progress and growth to the entire state of Goiás.

Currently, known as Hotel Fazenda Ecologica Bona Espero, the group has transformed space into an oasis of peace, tranquility and contact with nature. The site, which is located in the heart of Chapada dos Veadeiros, is a great ecological reserve, with paths and sensory waterfalls that allow a deeper connection with the earth, and has the first and only 100% vegan restaurant of the entire Chapada two Veadeiros, whose ingredients are grown on the same farm.

Focused on regenerative tourism, the Bona Espero Ecological Farm Hotel  is a non-profit organization whose exceeding revenues are destined to environmental preservation and the realization of educational and socio-environmental development projects. Also known for organizing events of spiritual preservation, of itself and/or environmental, the farm is today a reference in the area of ecological tourism and spiritual purification, in addition to contributing to the social and educational development of the region.

Being partners for a long time, Bona Espero and União Planetária have carried out several environmental and social actions together, the last of them being the Bona Espero Memorial Culture homestead, inaugurated in early 2023, at the Embassy of União Planetaria in Alto Paraíso. The place aims to organize educational, cultural and socio -environmental events that contribute to the education and development of the entire region of Alto Paraíso and Chapada dos Veadeiros. The friendship between União Planetária and Bona Espero has had several of the same leaders and employees, allowing a more efficient collaborative work.

Because they have extremely similar purposes and values, this integration also allowed the strengthening of both entities, which today work together in promoting a more fair, equal and fraternal world.
